Today we went out on a friend of the families boat to swim in the sea! It was a wonderful but exhausting day and to top it all off we had crabs for lunch! They were not the Maryland style crabs that I love above all else but they were still delicious.

Here the man whose boat we were on is riding an AirSki. I've never seen one before but he said it feels like you are flying and it certainly does look like fun. Perhaps one day I will have the chance to try it.

Is it just me or does Tara the dog have a striking resemblance to an Ewok?

Today was a rather low key day. I spent most of it finishing a book from a series that I am totally addicted to called The Dragon riders of Pern. I highly recommend it! In addition, we also went to the grocery for a few essentials . The biggest essential in my book being mint flavored toothpaste because the fresh apple flavored toothpaste that had been supplied was just yuck. We also bought the same lollipop for Ram 3 times because the first one fell out of his mouth, and the second was lost somewhere between playing foosball and putt putt at cheeky monkey, our favorite indoor/outdoor play area.
While playing putt putt Tut's ball was apprehended by this stray desert cat then Ram decided to donate his ball to the feline as well.

We haven't been on the boat as of yet because apparently anyone who wants to board a boat at this point has to have a permit issued to them by the police. This is to keep people they wish to prosecute from fleeing the country. Even if this area of Egypt wasn't as affected by the revolution it is interesting to note the changes taking place.... though maybe the revolution did have as much effect here but on the other side of the spectrum, that some people here are the ones to be kept in the country.

11:30 pm departure from Dulles + 7 1/2 hours flight + 2 1/2 hours layover + 3 1/2 hours on the runway + 6 hours in the terminal + 1 hour waiting for taxi and driving to hotel + 2 hours getting through bath and searching for food + 2 hours convincing the boys that it was time for sleep and not play + a few winks of sleep + 4 hours plane ride to Cairo + 2 hours layover + 1 hour flight to Hurghada + 1 hour drive to Gouna + 2 Hours getting through Bath and unpacking (plus 7 hours to account for the time zone) = A VERY LONG TRIP
Here is Ram near the end of our trip. I must say the boys were real troopers and I was rather impressed at the lack of melt downs. They made a very long hard day go much easier.

As I sit here in the airport I find myself making many goals for this summer. First I will be a more disciplined blogger and attempt to post everyday... or at least every other day. I will study for an exam I'm planning to take and pass at the end of the summer. And I hope to drastically improve my arabic. Hope you enjoy this years edition of Missy June Nanny at Large!
